Forthcoming Third Release of Fourth-Wave ABS Data on August 15, 2017
The Asian Barometer Survey is essentially a cross-national survey project. Under a data-sharing agreement with our East Asian collaborators, we have made a merged dataset which covers thirteen East Asian countries and territories. All the variables contained within our core questionnaire are freely accessible to scholars and experts worldwide, upon application.
In order to encourage academic exchange and the sharing of survey research, data from the first-wave of the survey was released in October 2005, which covered eight countries (Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea). In December 2011, data was released for the thirteen second-wave countries (Taiwan, Thailand, Mongolia, the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia). Data for the third-wave of the survey was released between 2011 and 2013 (the third-wave data for the Taiwan survey was released in December 2011; subsequently, we released data from the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Singapore and Vietnam in June 2012; in March 2013, we released data from Indonesia, Malaysia, and South Korea; in December 2013, we released data from Japan, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and China).
We are now pleased to announce that data from Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, South Korea, and Cambodia of the Wave 4 Survey will be released on August 15, 2017.
